Core responsibilities
Wash and sanitize: Clean all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans using a commercial dishwashing machine or by hand.
Organize and store: Properly dry and store all clean items in their designated locations.
Maintain a clean work area: Keep the dishwashing area, floors, and sinks clean and organized throughout the shift.
Manage waste: Empty and clean trash cans and recycling containers regularly, and dispose of waste properly.
Follow safety protocols: Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
Clean equipment: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and prep stations.
Additional duties
Assist with food prep: Help with basic food preparation tasks like peeling or chopping vegetables as needed.
Receive and store deliveries: Assist in receiving and putting away food and supply deliveries.
Report issues: Promptly report any sanitation problems, mechanical issues with the dishwasher, or broken dishes to a supervisor.
Support the team: Assist other kitchen staff with cleaning or other tasks as requested.
